  • I am hoping I have enough motivation to catch this xanga up!

I would just like to say that i started that title out by saying "is hoping she...." as if I was posting a status for Facebook....

Oh xanga, it has been a while.
I even woke up one night and wondered if they'd discontinued my site since I no longer blog much!

The last time I posted was mid-end julyish! I had a garage sale and a LOT of company coming up the next few weeks. So in short I'll recap the last couple months. I think this is more for my memory's sake than for anything else, so if you don't make it through don't feel bad!

On July 23rd we got 5 windows in our house replaced and I LOVE the new ones! It was hard to keep Kaden out of the way for a whole day, but totally worth it!

The next day, Howes came. Terri and I had planned a garage sale/Pampered Chef sale. We put a sign out by the main road on her truck and advertised the Pampered Chef things and had a drawing for a free show. It was a GREAT way to help get me "out" into Gillette. I have done at least 8 shows that were directly from that sale and plenty more shows that came from those 8! I think I may do this annually to build my business! Plus we made some money off the garage sale.

Howes left after church and lunch on Sunday and on Tuesday Bev and Adam came...they had a job interview in Sheridan and it was fun to have them here for a few days. They left Friday morning (July 31) and my parents came that night. My parents were coming to stay the weekend so that Luke and I could go celebrate our third anniversary without Kaden, then they were leaving from our house to head to Colorado to vacation with my moms brother and his family. Unfortunately, Luke was sick on Thursday night. They decided to come anyway in case he felt better, which he did on friday, but then on Saturday (his birthday!) he was down with a fever. Needless to say, we rescheduled our anniversary plans. It worked out that my parents left Sunday adn could come back the next weekend for us to try again!

The same Sunday that my parents left, Luke's sister Jamie and her family came. Scott had a business trip in a town a few hours farther down the road so he left Jamie and the kids here with us. By then Luke was feeling much better and we had a lot of fun with the kids. We took them to the pool several times and played at the park and had lots of fun! Jamie, Scott and the kids left thursday morning (if i'm remembering right!) and my parents came back Friday afternoon.

We headed to Casper to see what there was to see...apparently, there isn't much in Casper, but we had fun relaxing in the pool and eating out! We go to go shopping for some shoes and other things that are hard to do with Kaden and stocked up on our Sams list while we were there. We didn't get to do the river raft trip we had scheduled the weekend before or the Peter Pan play that we'd scheduled, but at least we got to get away for a night.

My parents left Monday morning (the 9th) and the next three days we had free, except for 2 Pampered Chef shows and a PCA work picnic each night. Then on Thursday the 13th (august for those who might have lost track!) I went to Billings and picked up my friend Bethany from the airport. Poor girl and flown all day then had a 3 hour ride back to Gillette...i felt bad for her! She was here until August 18th and in that time we visited Mt Rushmore and walked around Keystone and visited little shops and such.We had fun with Kaden and hanging out!

I took Bethany back to the airport on the 18th and on the 21st our friends Mike and Larissa Haub visited with their little baby Katelyn. It was SO fun to catch up and play Pinochle all weekend!! We decided we could do that more often! They left on Sunday (aug 23) which was also the day I was in charge of a Bridal Shower for a friend Jolene here in town.

We had a few days to relax and be a family and then I left on August 27th to surprise my dad for his birthday in Lewistown! I had to be there on the next monday anyway for a bridal shower I was doing for a good friend, so I decided to go for the weekend and say happy birthday! Over friday-sunday Mom and I made like 28 jars of apple butter and wore her new stove in and ourselves out! Also on Sunday was church and an AWANA picnic that I went to just to see old friends! I had the bridal shower for Crysta on August 31 and that was a LOT of fun to see old friends and do a Pampered Chef show as well! I was so tired by the end of the weekend that on Tuesday when i got up to leave I didn't know if i'd make it home! I did make it just fine and was glad to have 2 weeks until we had more company!

The next morning (Sept 2) I woke up and something in me decided to take a pregnancy test. (haha, get it...something in me! actually I'm still not certain WHY i did it, I think it was just because I was so tired the whole weekend (altho i SHOULD HAVE BEEN!) and somewhat grumpy...) anyway, i found out I WAS indeed pregnant! For those of you wondering...no it wasn't an accident, but after the craziness of the last 2 months it was a complete SHOCK! I called Luke and he came home for me to tell him and then life went on as normal that night as I had a Pampered Chef show! We decided to hold of telling about the pregnancy for several reasons and ended up making it public on Oct 10th. It was kind of fun to have it a little secret, but hard to because i was a lot more sick this time than i was with Kaden.

That weekend was labor day and somehow we got it in our crazy heads to paint our living room! we tested many colors and finally chose a color. Luke had it painted by Monday except one wall which we are doing a darker brown accent color on and has still not been completed!

Luke's brother Justin and his family came that Wednesday on Sept 9 (if i'm remembering right! Its hard to remember)so we ended up telling Luke's and my parents and Justin and Rose because by then I was so sick it was not something that could be hidden. Justin and Rose had a mission conference in Rapid City for a few days so we kept their 2 1/2 year old Warren during that time. They were back by Saturday and went to church with us on Sunday before heading home. (i can't remember exactly when they headed home...) it was fun to have Warren and Kaden LOVED it. I was somewhat nervous with it being sick and all but they did great!

The rest of September was supposed to be relatively quiet, but somewhere in there I got voted in as Nursery directer and asked to have an infant nursery opened (in addition the the toddler nursery) by Sept 13th. From that point on I spent a lot of time perfecting it and cleaning both nurseries each week. Between nursery, one-day company every now and then (my friend bev comes to see me sometimes from Sheridan), Pampered Chef shows, canning my MANY green tomatoes that i ended up having to pick because of early frost, and feeling sick, the time in September passed VERY quickly (and yet slowly as could be it seemed at times!). I was bummed the whole time because I had looked forward SO much to a quiet month and it had been anything but quiet and the quiet days were still sick and tired days! I have to admit, i was extremely glad to say goodbye to September! and was counting down to Oct. 23 when my first trimester would be over.

On October 8th I went to Rapid to pick up my college roommate from the airport. Of course it was winter storm warning weather the entire weekend. We did make it to Rapid to spend a night in Keystone and hangout before she had to stay and work in Rapid for a few days. I was going to stay but the weather kept getting worse so after shopping for the NECESSITIES (like shoes for Kaden after a month of none!) i headed home. About 1/2 hour from home I got a call from a lady at PCA asking if Luke had the flu. Of course, I didn't know since I'd been gone, so i called and asked him. Long story short everyone told me not to go home cuz they were sure he had the swine flu and being pregnant i couldn't be around that. So i cried and drove around while luke spent hours at a walk-in clinic waiting to be tested. Thankfully it was a false alarm and is "just a cold". I say is, meaning that, it STILL is...2 weeks later! I kept busy the rest of that week being pretty sick and cleaning the church nursery and the house. In fact I was sick most of the next week as well and last friday both Luke and i got hit with some kind of bug (which also wasn't the flu) that SEEMED a whole lot like the flu. We were MISERABLE and poor Kaden had had it earlier in the week and was just beside himself because mom and dad were both home just LAYING on the couch when they could have been playing with him! He seemed so lost!

We were supposed to have 3 hunters from Arkansas staying with us this weekend, but since we were sick they opted to stay at a hotel. Luke's friend Aaron was kind enough to guide them hunting since Luke was not up to it. We were feeling well enough that by Saturday night we had them all over for dinner and lunch and dinner on Sunday. They were over again today for lunch adn headed out of town...

and now I think i have 2 weeks of nothing before we head out for an elk hunt by Jackson Hole. I'm still not feeling 100% and I'm not sure that Luke is either. I'm really hoping we can keep these two weeks calm and free so we can get healthy and move on with life! i turned13 weeks, and therefore, am in my second trimester on friday. I had been looking forward to it so long and then was so sick I didn't even know. and it doesn't seem that the magic of the 2nd trimester has taken over my body yet. I keep praying its soon because i am definitely ready to feel good!

My due date is April 30...6 months away! Yikes! we are excited and not sure what to hope for! we'll be finding out what it is in mid-december! So for now, you are all up to date and hopefully life won't be so crazy for a while and maybe i can keep up!!!!

  • the weekend. I'm exhausted!

It's official: Kaden is one and has been properly "birthday'd"

We headed to Lewistown last Thursday evening to stay with my parents. Friday was filled, for me, with getting ready for the Pampered Chef Bridal Shower I did for my friend Kristen Mantooth (and it took a lot more getting ready than I'd expected because of certain circumstances!) Anyway, also in the morning my dad had instructed me to bring Kaden in to be shown off to his coworkers and others in his building. So after baking Kaden's birthday cake and a few things for the shower, we took Kaden there. he loves being shown off by the way. It's right up his "people-lover alley" :) After that he had a nap and then Luke and I went out to Camp Lewtana (where we met! Awwww) to see his brother and his wife. We ate lunch with them and then I had to head into town to meet with people to set up for the shower. Luke kept Kaden out at camp and he worked on the new deck while Rose so kindly watched Kaden for us!
Around 4 I was finally done shopping (that unexpected circumstance) and setting up for the shower and was just about to pull out of the church parking lot and Jamie (Luke's sis) called to say she was in town "just passing Celebration Church" ...that was the church I was at. So I met up with her and led the way to my parents house and tried to play host while showering and getting ready to head to the shower. Luke's parents also came in time for dinner and i was really sad to have to leave. The show was really good and I had been really nervous. Everyone said I did a great job which always makes me feel better! Kristen got some awesome things!
I got home from that around 10:30pm and cleaned up all my gear and went to bed around 11:30pm. I was exhausted, yet couldn't sleep til around 2am then woke up with the sun.
I spent saturday morning frosting Kaden's cowboy boot shaped cake, and getting ready for the party in various ways. Matt and Bonnie, Jamie and her 2 boys and 1 girl had stayed at my parents so in between working I visited with them. Justin and Rose came in from camp around 10 and my grandparents came over around 11. We had hamburgers, potato salad, hot dogs, chips and punch. Matt and Johnna (Luke's bro) didn't come but 3 of their 4 boys were in town for a couple weeks with their grandparents so we went over and picked them up and brought them to the party. I think John and Phyllis (grandparents) were really happy for the break! They sounded like it anyway! Around 1 the party ended and we took the 3 boys back to Gramma's and proceeded to sunscreen and bathing suit Nathan Jaedon Acacia Kaden and Warren and by 2 headed to the city pool (NOT free, by the way. I love Gillette) Luke, Jamie, Rose and I headed over their and everyone else stayed for a few hours. I stayed about 45 minutes then had to head out to my next Pampered Chef Party. That one was fun because it didn't require a lot of set up but I got to see some people I've known a long time but don't see when I come to Lewistown! That was at 4 and i was done by 5:45pm in time to come home and hang out more with Jamie, Rose and Justin and the kids some more.
We ended up staying up way to late again...why???!? Anyway, we woke up with the sun and packed up and left by 9ish. We had some shopping to do in Billings so we didn't get home til about 7pm. And I was exhausted!!!
Today I got a friend to babysit Kaden for an hour and a half and spent that time going through 3 bags of baby clothes I was given in Lewistown (Praise the Lord for providing!) and getting my Pampered Chef things put away and my house clean-ish. And garage sale items ready. I have tons more to do, but i feel like I've accomplished a LOT for one day! I have more company coming on Friday and a garage sale on Saturday with more company on Monday-Thursday and Friday-Sun. It will be a BUSY 2 weeks! But it should be good! And I excited for this garage sale!
    Kaden's awake...okbye

  • more of summer busy-ness

Wow..its been a crazy couple weeks since I last posted! We went camping the last weekend of June and it was so much fun! We went to a place where we had to park about a mile away and let someone with a truck take us to the camp sight. BUMPY road it was! And it was good for me to be shown how much kaden does NOT like to just sit on my lap! He wanted to climb around while we were in the truck....I kept saying to myself "I'm SO glad I"m not taking him to the wedding!" Anyway, Kaden loves camping, except the sleeping at night part. He got a little cold and ended up in bed with us both nights. Let me just say now, sleeping with an almost 1 year old is a task especially if you're on the ground in a tent and its freezing out! But we survived. He loved watching the fire and our hike in the woods and he loved that Lauren was there. I think Lauren is his favorite person of all time! She laughs at his sillyness and talks to him all the time. We left for camping on Friday  afternoon and came home Sunday around noon. I think we're going again in a couple weeks and I'm really excited...hoping it doesn't get so cold at night and kaden will sleep in his playpen all night!
Monday and Tuesday were spent frantically getting laundry done, house cleaned and ready for my parents who came Tuesday night, and me packed to leave for Bev and Adam's wedding early Wednesday morning. My parents came to stay with Luke and Kaden so Luke wouldn't starve (jk jk!) and could still work while I was gone and not have to take days of to watch kaden. I drove to Billings (3 hour drive at 80....everyone says 3 1/2 but its NOT) anyway and flew to Oregon. It was the first time I've left Kaden for more than just a few hours and I wondered how I'd do. I just kept thinking "I'm so glad I don't have him" even tho I did miss him. I actually think I might have missed Luke more. In the romance of everything and all! The wedding was stressful to get ready for but absolutely beautiful! It was Friday the 3rd and a lot of Bev's family stayed to help clean up as well as my brother Aaron and Luke's parents. (Yes, my parents were with Luke and Luke's parents at the wedding with me..lol!) we got cleaned up around 11 and I felt so gross and found out I couldn't take a shower at the place i was staying with Aaron, So before leaving Corvalis we stopped at Matt and Bonnie's hotel room and I took a shower while Aaron grabbed food. We picniced with them and said Goodbye and had a 2 hour drive back to Portland. I think i managed to get 2 hours of sleep that night between getting to Portland around 2am and to bed later after talking to Lori (Like we don't talk enough on the phone?!?) and getting up at like 5 or something rediculous to go to the airport. Also, i was, for some dumb reason, unable to sleep on the plane and so I had my 3 hour drive home on little sleep. It felt LONG. But i made it safely in time to get Kaden when he woke up from his nap at 4 on Saturday. He just GRINNED when he saw it was me. It was so good to see him recognize me and be glad I was home!
That evening I would have gone to bed at 5 had I not had something to keep me awake so we decided we should go to the church 4th of July picnic/fireworks. It was fun, i have to say, i was very out of it! sorry to anyone who was there and saw my zombie-like state! i DO remember most of it, so hopefully that means I wasn't TOO bad! Kaden was the center of attention at the picnic...he always seems to be...and so that was fun to watch adults talk to him and babies want to hug him. What a lovable child i have! :)
Sunday I slept til noon with the exception of getting up for an hour to see my parents off and get Luke and Kaden off to church. It was GLORIOUS. i haven't slept that much since Kaden was born i don't think. (of course, it really wasn't MUCH when I realize i had 2 hours of sleep the night before and didn't go to bed til midnight...so i got about 11 hours...) anyway...
the next week I finally felt like I had time to take Kaden to the pool. We did that several times nad he is a little FISH! He cries when we leave and crawls in just as deep as I'll let him! I just love that he likes the water, and that Gillette has an AWESOME free pool! We also had Kaden's birthday party on Saturday and he turned 1 on Sunday! Can you believe my baby is 1! wow. And he's SO mcuh fuN! I wouldn't trade this age for anything! (well..maybe a day to sleep in...)
This week has been spent playing and doing nothing much productive. We leave today (thursday) in a few minutes to head to Lewistown. I am doing a pampered chef bridal shower for Kristen Mantooth a friend from high school and a Pampered Chef party for Shelly Gertge and friend from my home church! Also, we are having a family birthday party for Kaden on Saturday morning! It will be a BUSY weekend with more company and excitement to follow SOON after return! Never a dull moment around the Antonich's this summer!
Luke's on his way and we're leaving! Have a great weekend! OKbye

  • update. not as exciting as past weeks.

Another day another week!!...it seems my weeks go as fast as my days these last couple months.

Last Saturday Brad came to live with us for hopefully the summer. We're really hoping he can find a job. On Tuesday Rachel and Chris Benson came back through and we had a BLAST. we played Brad's Rockband on his Xbox and laughed and laughed! I have some great video of Rach singing naughty songs. I wish it could have been longer!

The rest of the week was spent trying to finish a scrapbook I'm making for my friend Bev. I'm in her wedding July 3rd so time is getting short and I don't have much done! On Friday night we kicked the cat out and I cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms. Then on Saturday while Luke and Brad went paintballing (I was VERY VERY Sad not to get to go:( ) I stayed home and vaccumed and dusted the whole house and made lasagna for father's day lunch and Chicken Enchaladas for Saturday's dinner. Matt and Bonnie (who are allergic to the cat, hence all the cleaning) got here around 6:30pm Saturday night, not long after Brad and Luke had returned from paintballing! Sunday was a good Father's Day and typical in that nothing on the honey-do list got done! I HAD kind of expected something to get done since Luke had been paintballing the day before but oh well. I suppose I can handle no garage (the spring is broken so it won't open) and no front water spicket with which I'd LOVE to be watering my tomato plants. I can survive without them a few more weeks til Luke has another free day! They did look at the old '89 dynasty that quit on us a few weeks ago. nothing solved though. But they did get naps and guitar hero in so I think it was a good Father's Day! I had told Luke his gift was the shotgun he bought about a month and a half ago! :)

Matt and Bonnie left around 1 yesterday and I took an hour and 15 minute nap with kaden. AMAZING. i was exhausted and hadn't felt good at all on Sunday. (Hence, the rumors that started saying I was pregnant. I am NOT pregnant. I promise.) And today Kaden and I played at the park with the MOMS group from church and have been cleaning (how can i need to clean so soon after how much i cleaned on Sunday?!?!!?) and I am back to scrapbooking! I leave in 1 week for the wedding and i have to admit I'm looking forward to it being over!!

So there's the quick update. I need to get back to cleaning and make a dinner. Luke got a babysitter who's coming here to watch kaden for us tonight. so i figured since they (a couple from church) are getting here at 5 and Brad's here I better have some kind of a dinner prepared! I wish it was yesterday's naptime all over again!!!
    OKBYE

  • Whew! Busy week!

Well..here I am updating fairly quickly compared to what is normal these days!

The last 2 weeks have been good....crazy and good! VBS was June 7-11. Both Luke and I worked...me in the 4 year olds class and Luke in the 1-3rd grade class. We both enjoyed working with kids again, but had a lot of things we'd change. I guess having worked at camp for multiple summers and seeing how WELL a VBS can go makes you want it all the time! I have a LOT I could say about it, but I'll refrain here. :) You can ask if you wanna know!

During VBS week...Monday night to be exact we had our ex-pastor's (in other words: pastor from Butte) wife and her 5 kids stay with us. that was crazy! They are full of fun and energy. We took the 4 younger ones to VBS with us and the oldest (10) decided to stay home and play our xbox and watch movies! I was glad we had vbs for them because it was rainy and they would have been bored stuck in our house which is not very kid-friendly yet! Baby friendly yes, kid friendly not so much :)

The next day (tuesday) my sister in law called and wanted to know if it'd be ok if her, her son travis (20 months) and my mom came down here to visit me since I wasn't going to make it up to MT to see them. Of course I said yes! I was already exhausted from company, vbs and other things..but it was fun to have them here. Travis was not a big fan of Kaden, but i think that was just his age. He wanted the attention and didn't like it when kaden inturrupted it! While they were here I got the wild idea to paint Kaden's room (I had gotten a girl to subsitute teach for me at VBS so i could spend more time with my family) so we started that around noon. It looks so awesome! at about 4 I got a call that the girl I thot was substituting didn't want to leave her sick son home with dad so I was needed at VBS! Ugh! But i went and it was good I did! it was a crazy night! it set back the painting so once again we were up til midnight and back up in the AM with babies at 6am! (for the now 3rd night in a row!) but it was all good! the next morning (thursday) Lori and I planted part of my garden!!! We did a row of peas and 18 tomato plants! Mom and Lori and Travis left around 11am and i spent the rest of the day trying to clean up paint stuff and get ready for VBS again!

Friday Lauren came over and we planted the rest of my garden, including 29 green pepper plants, and 4 jalepeno plants, 2 rows of pickling cucumbers, and 1/2 row of both lettuce and carrots,.and that night Luke had arranged for a babysitter so we could go on a DATE!!! We went to Applebees (for some reason i really felt the need to go there!)  Then we got a Redbox movie because we had to pick up Kaden at 7 (early bedtimes limit dates...and letting him stay up past bedtime means he gets up early!!!) It was nice to be without Kaden for most of the evening tho!

Saturday we spent rearranging the downstairs and guest bedroom. We orginially had the guest bed and bunk beds in the same room. We have so many guests tho that we thought we should move the guest bed out so Brad didn't have to move out every other day :) it is now out in the living room (kind of) and Brad has his own space. After we did that we went to a wedding reception of a guy Luke works with and then went out to Aaron and Lauren's house about 20 minutes out of town to look at their paint. They, ironically, chose the same paint I'm looking at for my living room. it was awesome to see it on a wall :):) We got back and I headed to walmart without Kaden and Luke to get some returns and stuff done. When I got back here we had Brad! Of course the guys spent the evening on video games :)

Sunday was church, and Luke and Brad fixed the sprinkler system (!!!!) while Kaden and I worked in the garden getting a soaker hose in place and mulch moved. That evening Brad and Luke played Xbox and I went to church. (Hmmm?)

Today has been quiet. With the occasional outburst from Kaden I have been able to clean my kitchen. get ready for my first GIllette Pampered Chef show, pay bills and little odds and ends like that! I even listened to a cd speaker that i've been wanting to hear for a long time!!!!

This week we think we may have Chris and Rachel back for Wednesday night and Debbie and Kids back for Friday night, and we're pretty sure Matt and Bonnie (Luke's parents) are coming Saturday night for a few days. Saturday during the day is a paintball day with the church and you know we'll be there. and while Matt and Bonnie are here I really hope to paint the living room! In between there sometime i absolutely have to get some things done for the wedding I'm in July 3rd in Oregone. so much for me thinking June was uneventful! I wont' even mention the things going on next week til next time I post! I tried to put pictures on here but it's not letting me. Sorry..you'll have to check my facebook for those :)

About Me

  • I can't believe I haven't changed this in over a year! I am STILL married to the most wonderful man and I enjoy married life. had our first 11 months ago! I can't believe my baby boy turns 1 July 12! I like Code Red and Chicken Enchaladas, but I can't drink a whole lot of Code Red anymore. We are cat-sitting a cat named Jasmine for the summer. I call her Jazzy. So it's a good thing we don't have my old fish. That's the one, Howard Bruce, that died 2 years ago under the care of Brandon and Jared. True to my word: they have never babysat Kaden since they couldn't even keep a fish alive. I love to cook and have people over for dinner or the night.... I like to play cards and have a clean house ..which isn't always so clean. But it will be if you come to stay, I promise. I also am taking up gardening and am a Pampered Chef Consultant for now. Life is exciting so i use a lot of exclamation points!!!
